Medical requirements for clients above 75 years

Under the Migration Regulations one of the requirements for a Visitor visa is a criterion relating to health. The criterion aims to protect Australia from public health risks, and preserve Australian health resources.

In order to meet this requirement you will be required to undertake medical examinations including an “Aged Visitor Health Check”. This check must be undertaken by a panel doctor http://www.immi.gov.au/contacts/overseas/i/india/panel-doctors.htm  

Step 1
VFS (or the Visa Office New Delhi if you are dealing with them direct) will provide you with medical examination form/s at the time you or your agent lodges your visa application. These forms are for the use of your Panel Doctor, so it is very important to bring this form to your Panel Doctor on day of appointment.

Step 2
After your health check, the panel doctor will send the medical examination forms to the Visa Office, New Delhi.

Step 3
The Visa Office will arrange for your medical reports to be considered by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC).

Step 4
You will be informed as to whether or not you meet the health criteria.
In some cases, further medical reports may be requested. If additional documents or medical examinations are required, the Visa Office, New Delhi will notify you

Impact on Processing times
The amount of time taken to finalise individual applications may vary significantly depending on processing requirements;

Whilst the medical requirement is being assessed it is requested that you provide all other documents requested by your case officer to this office. Your case officer will contact you with further advice as we receive it.

OVERSEAS TRAVEL INSURANCE

All clients above 75 years must also submit overseas travel insurance policy.

Please note that the visa stay period granted will be strictly for the period for which insurance cover is provided
