LODGING YOUR APPLICATION
Application may be lodged in New Delhi between 0830 to 1300 and 1400 to 1700 from Monday to Friday and in Mumbai & Chennai between 0900 to 1700 from Monday to Friday.
Personal Attendance Requirements
Applicants applying for an Australian passport under the following categories must lodge their application in person in at the Australian High Commission New Delhi or the Consulate-General in Mumbai or the Consulate – General in Chennai:
• first child passport *
• first adult passport
• applicants replacing a lost, stolen or damaged travel document
• applicants replacing limited validity (less than 2 years) travel documents
• applicants replacing a passport issued prior to 20 August 1986
• applicants for a first passport on resumption of Australian citizenship
*If you are applying for a child’s first Australian passport, it is not necessary for the child to attend an interview as one of the child’s parents can lodge the application in person on their behalf.
You don’t need an appointment to apply for a passport, please come to either office during business hours Monday to Friday (after taking note of the days the offices are closed for public holidays).
